Everyone’s Graduating. What About Me?

If you are looking at all of your peers graduating, seeing their families celebrate their accomplishments, and you feel left behind, we see you! We understand that there are many reasons that you may not have graduated YET.

At Buckeye Community School, we designed our high school just for you. We are a tuition-free high school with locations in London, Mansfield, and Marion, that offers you a flexible schedule, multiple pathways to a diploma, and unwavering support. Take a look at just a few of the ways we have helped students just like you to overcome the barriers to their diploma.

Working Students

A traditional high school can’t accommodate a student who works full time. At BCS, we firmly believe that you can work full time and complete your high school education at the same time. What it takes is flexibility, and we have that in spades.

James, a 2022 graduate of Buckeye Community School, found both the schedule and support that he needed. He continued to work full time, took advantage of the flexible class time at BCS, and did his schoolwork in his spare time. If you work full time, we can help you earn your high school diploma as well.

Students Looking for a Second Chance

Did school not work out for you the first time around? You aren’t alone. For many teens, traditional high schools can’t meet their needs. They end up feeling like failures for not completing school. At Buckeye, we never see a student as a failure. We see the promise in every student.

Elizaveta was part of the juvenile justice system and came to Buckeye to get her diploma and turn her life around. She put in the hard work and we gave her the support she needed along the way. She is now a high school graduate who has the goal of becoming a therapist in order to help others.

BreKenzie needed a second chance, and she came to Buckeye. Now that she has graduated from high school she works in an assisted living facility and has plans to become a nurse. Come see us for the second chance you deserve.

Mental Health Struggles

High school can be challenging, and when you are struggling with mental health issues those challenges can seem insurmountable. We get it, which is why we have all of the built in support you need to complete your education. You can work at your own pace, whether that be faster or slower than the person next to you. We give you one-on-one support through teachers, counselors, and specialists. We are committed to walking with you through your struggles.

Parents

Having a child before you complete high school does not mean you can’t get your diploma. At BCS we work with our student/parents to find a flexible schedule that accommodates their unique situation. You can set your own pace for completing your classes and do your schoolwork from the most convenient location.

We are a public high school so there are no fees. We provide all of your school supplies, even loaning you a laptop if you need one, and lunch is always free to all of our students.
