You Are Not A Failure

Let’s talk about the word failure. It’s a heavy word, one that carries a lot of emotion. It’s a negative word. And we know that it is easy to feel like a failure when you are behind in school. 

But you are NOT a failure. Go ahead and read that sentence again (we’ll wait…) The word failure does NOT describe YOU.

You may have had setbacks and failures along the way in your education. Those are real experiences, and we are not minimizing those or the way they made you feel. But at Buckeye Community School, a tuition free high school in Ohio, we see the difference between your experiences and you, the human. We see you for the person that you are and we support you going forward. So leave those past experiences at the door and step into a school whose entire purpose is to help you succeed.

How You Can Succeed at Buckeye

To turn your high school experience around means doing something different. That’s why we don’t have just one box at Buckeye. In fact, we don’t put students in boxes at all. Instead of making you fit a model of school, we work with you to create a model that is just for you. 

Need some flexibility in the times you spend at school? We got you. Let’s work out a plan for when you are at school working and when you are doing school work outside of the building.

Want to build some career skills while you finish high school? Awesome. We have several career tech programs to choose from.

Behind in your credits and wondering if you can ever finish? We KNOW you can and we will help you lay out the plan to get that diploma.

Change Your Story

Finding your successes in high school means changing the story of your education. If you feel like your story has been one of failure, then we think it’s time to write a new story. In this new version, you succeed. You conquer that difficult class. You meet with teachers and other staff when the going gets tough and let them work with you. In this version of the story, you earn that high school diploma and you are very much not a failure.
