At Buckeye Community School (BCS) it’s up to you where you learn. The amount of time you spend in our buildings is up to you. How often you meet with your teachers is up to you. We create a high school schedule that works for you. Our friendly, flexible, and free public high was designed for you.

Our world has changed in the last two years, people everywhere are re-examining when, how and where you work and learn. What used to be impossible, is now possible. At BCS, we already have a model that makes the impossible possible for students. Our model partners you with supportive teachers and staff and lets you learn in whatever way works best for you.

Flexible Schedules, 1:1 Support

With our Demonstrated Mastery model updates/demonstrated-mastery-model of teaching, you earn credits for demonstrating your knowledge. You can choose to spend less time in a classroom, knowing that your high school diploma is the same as every graduate’s in Ohio.

Every teacher and staff member at BCS is here for you. We call and text to stay in touch, depending on what works best for you. You receive 1:1 support from day one by creating your Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). Your ILP is a powerful tool that helps you get your life to work with your education.

If you work night shifts and need to get valuable sleep every morning, we’ve got you covered. An ILP enables afternoon schedules and flexibility for when you turn in classwork.

If you prefer to be in a school building on a regular basis, we’re here for you. You can create a schedule of in-person classes each week.

If you work well on your own and don’t need much in-person support, you can simply come into BCS when you find you need help.

It’s all up to you.
